Yesterday Cambridgeshire took on Suffolk in a County over 50 match. Suffolk have for some time been the team to beat.
I started the day aching from golf the day before but felt good. We started slowly but made steady progress. I made a quick 23 in 23 balls before being run out by my partner.
We then lost some quick wickets and started to thing we might only just reach 180. But fortunes changed and after some magnificent smashing of the ball we ended up with a reasonable 269 after 45 overs.
We were playing at Burwell which has short boundaries so this was still achievable. I overheard a Suffolk player talking about how good their batsman are and how this wouldn’t be a problem.
So it was great to get them all out way short of the target.
Legs are really aching this morning and I’m off to golf again in a minute!!!
