I like business festivals. They remind us of where our wealth is created, provide assistance and guidance to business to grow and create a feel good factor.

I was looking forward to the West Suffolk Business Festival until I realised that both Clare and Newmarket have been completely ignored. Not a mention that I can see of either town. How on earth can the racing industry not be included?

There needs to be a radical change of thinking. The horse racing industry isn’t something we should be apologising for it’s something we should be celebrating and supporting.

Clare, the smallest town, would dearly love some help. You would not know it existed if you only looked at this festival. How about some support for our two breweries? Or our world class auction house? Or our ……….

I have written to the Chief Exec of West Suffolk Council expressing my disappointment.
