Yet another solar farm- Cavendish

Solar farms are all the rage it seems.

In the right location they are great. They are not permanent fixtures, sometimes provide a community benefit fund, generate clean energy and the land can still be used for grazing.

In the wrong location they are a blight. They can be an eyesore, use productive land and can be disruptive when being built.

I have just been made aware of a proposal for a 12.5MW solar farm at Wales End in Cavendish. There is a public consultation being held next Tuesday, March 4th, at 1600 – 2000 in the town hall in Clare!!!!!!! I have contacted the promoters and asked why not in the village hall in Cavendish. I suspect they fell at the first fence and didn’t try very hard to check availability of the Cavendish Hall. I have let them know that if not many of the good folk of Cavendish want to drive to Clare then they will need to do another consultation in Cavendish.

It is important that local people have their say to shape the proposal. I include the leaflet that I was sent. Please attend if you can.
