Last night a water leak was detected outside of the Plough pub at Brockley Green.

Anglia Water sent a team from Norwich today, to repair it. The road has been closed all day (although a few folk slipped by first thing this morning), and the road has been dug up. They found a branch of the mains to the Plough had “blown off”.
This has now been repaired but we are left with a big hole in the road. Whilst the water was switched off for a couple of hours it is all back on now and water quality checks are being carried out.
Interestingly, the tarmac and road structure appears not very thick here with most of what was extracted being mud. Because a lot of water has been swilling around there is a concern that the road may be damaged beyond the existing hole. This will need to be assessed by a road engineer hopefully on Monday. Full repairs to the road will then be made. The road will remain closed until this work has been carried out.
The road closure permit runs out on the 26th.

This is a road closed that is actually a closed road.
