CLASP – Fabulous local charity – Can you help?

As I get ready to chair my second meeting of the CLASP management team, this evening, I have been reflecting on the impact this fantastic charity has on the local community.

In our busy lives we take social interaction for granted. Not everyone is so lucky and as we get older social isolation can become a serious problem The lunch club, held on a Wednesday starting around 1030hrs and finishing at 1500hrs, provides company and a fine three course lunch for up to 30. The food is freshly cooked and served by a team of volunteers. Strong friendships are created amongst our users and amongst our volunteers. Amongst the volunteers, we have had two romances turn into two weddings recently!!!!!

What thrills me is how all the volunteers are so dedicated to the lovely people we help. From the lunch club, to the minibus drivers and helpers through to our fantastic car aid drivers, everyone gives their time and kindness. And in return they have a wonderful feeling of being part of the CLASP family. They all matter, all contribute and are all very valued. Without our volunteers we have nothing.

We are always looking for: Pot washers, servers, cooks, minibus drivers and assistants, and of course our Car Aid drivers. We have a brilliant management team that you might think about joining.

If you would like to join our caring family at CLASP do drop me a message or give me a call and I will make sure an “expert” gets in touch to give you more information.

We are also seeking sponsorship and financial support. Can you help? Would your company benefit for being able to tick the “social responsibility” box. If so please get in touch with me.
