A14 Near death experience – for the motor cyclist

Driving back from Liverpool on Sunday, on the A14, I was astonished to see a motorbike coming towards me against the flow of traffic on the meter wide verge. The rider was not wearing a helmet and must have been travelling at 70 mph plus. If he had hit anyone at the closing speed of 140 mph he would almost certainly died but so might those that he hit. I missed him by a meter.

I called the police and then saw a British Transport police car pulled over by the side of the road surrounded by at least 4 other drivers who had presumably stopped to report the same event. I added my details to his collection.

How very strange.
