I was contacted by one of my parish council clerks who was rightly concerned about an elderly villager who was not well and for some reason was not able to get his phone line repaired. This phone was literally a life line as mobile signals are poor in his house.
The parish clerk had spent some considerable time trying to get the phone providers attention without success.
In desperation I was contacted to see what could be done. Given that the phone provider was using our highways dept as an excuse I was able to get officers to look into the matter. My officers were furious that they were being used, incorrectly, as a scapegoat and have now taken the matter up with the phone provider. It now seems progress can be made.
Such a shame the customer has been treated this way by a goliath and that it has taken a fellow Goliath to make them listen.
