On Friday it was time to say goodbye to Terry who retires after 25 years at the council many of which as a UNISON official. He has certainly contributed a huge amount.
I have been very pleasantly surprised, since becoming Leader, at how good our relations with staff are. This is in no small part because of the activities of our union officials. It seems I have been converted to the benefits of trade unions, as they operate at the County. š
Terry tells it the way it is. If staff are right he fights hard on their behalf but if they are wrong he tells them. It is clear that Terry always acts with common sense and helps to solve problems.
He is always focused on serving the people of Cambridgeshire and the Council.
He will be missed by staff and management and will be a hard act to follow.
