Yesterday I hosted a regular meeting with representatives of the business organisations. We discussed a range of topics.
I was able to update them on progress with the A14, superfast broadband, Cambridge Science Park and our new bank.
There continues to be lots of interest in the bank. I was able to let them know we are in the process of lending about £1.7m so far with more in the pipeline. This is directly helping businesses to grow and providing a great return for our pensioners.
I also spent time listening to the concerns of business. It was pleasing to hear that despite the recession Peterborough and Cambridge are continuing to thrive.
We can still do more to help expand the economy.
