I have been very clear that politicians must stand alongside business leaders to attract and grow business within Cambridgshire. Much of what I am championing is about creating the right environment for business to feel confident and to thrive.

AstraZenica choosing to relocate the firm’s London headquarters to Cambridge is a ringing endorsement. It is expecting to have a new global R&D center and a corporate HQ here by 2016.

The quality of research in Cambridgeshire is second to none and must remain that way. Add to this our initiative to implement Superfast broadband across the county, our investment in the new Cambridge Science Park station and our investment in bringing forward housing you can understand the decision.

We need to attract more companies like this. I will be playing my part.
