In a previous post I commented on me being scammed when buying some kit through Gumtree. I made the necessary claim through Paypal, which was easy and only took a few minutes.

The process gave the scammer a chance to put things right, in case of a “misunderstanding”, and then was investigated. All this involved very little intervention from me, the process was clear and fortunately with a positive outcome. I now have my money back.

I guess we all assume, by reputation, that Paypal is a safe way to buy over the internet but don’t all find the need to test it. All I can say is that Paypal came up trumps and an enhanced reputation from my perspective. I shall ensure I tell at least 10 people.
