It was with great pleasure that on Monday I was able to launch an excellent publication on Community Land Trusts at the smartLIFEe in Cambridge. This guide sets out the experiences of early CLT and housing association partnerships and points the way for others who may wish to follow or improve upon them.

CLTs are community driven and controlled organisations that provide land and buildings that meet the need and aspirations of their communities.  Not only do they develop affordable housing but also work units, community halls, shops and pubs. They also buy land for community woodlands, playgrounds, food production or renewable energy schemes.
