In Shire Hall we have some very neat kit. The traffic management dept is full of screens and online maps plotting traffic activity, monitoring the guided busway and managing incidents. Unsung heroes who keep our roads flowing as best as is possible. When accidents happen they work with the police to minimise the chaos. Great stuff.

I was pleased to be invited to meet the South African High Commissioner for lunch at the University Press. I spent some time trying to forge links, in particular in the area of software development collaboration.

The afternoon was spent chairing my groups regular meeting. This lasted 3 hours and is a great way of feeding back into the group what is going on and to test thinking on policy. Group involvement is extremely important.

I finished off the day with a drink in my local 🙂
