On thursday night I was a guest of the CBI Easter Region at a dinner at Duxford. Eating under the wing of Concorde was a bit different.

It was a great opportunity to meet business people and to share our vision of this county being open for business. The key note speaker was Ed Balls. He spoke well and is clearly bright and away from the theater of the House, sensible.

I met him earlier in the afternoon and was able to explain to him how dynamic the county is and with some minor exceptions how well we work across organisations. He was impressed with our progress.

My money will be on him being the next leader of the Labour party.
