BBC local radio under threat – is that right?

It seems that the BBC is making cuts. It is right that the licence fee is not hiked and it is right that cuts are made. But why have they chosen local radio to cut?

BBC local radio is the go to station for many folk. Uncomplicated, with well known local presenters who are in touch with their local area and just a press of the button on the radio away. It’s mix of news, talk shows and music are great for the drive home or as background entertainment.

The cost of local radio is low compare to its big brother TV yet it punches above its weight in a number of areas. It is responsive to local events and is particularly effective at holding local politicians to account.

There are over 250 executives paid over £150k a year. https://www.bbc.com/aboutthebbc/whoweare/staff Can’t the axe fall here first? Or perhaps the presenters who are on ridiculous salaries:
