From being elected as leader of the group on the 15th April it has seemed a long time before the result of the election was ratified at our group AGM on the 13th May. During this period the title leader designate has been used widely. It was an interesting AGM. We all paid tribute to Jill Tuck and her leadership. We also recognised the outstanding work that had been carried out by her cabinet during a very difficult period.

I had the opportunity to introduce how I was going to turn my leadership manifesto into action. I also introduced the new cabinet.

The next step would be full council on the 17th May where I would be voted in as leader of the council and the new cabinet would take post. This was another humbling experience.
