Today, I had a very positive meeting with the Susanne Stent, who heads up HRC. These regular meetings with organisations that underpin our economic growth are so important.

We discussed a range of issues including how our “looked after children” could be given that extra support if they need it.

I was particularly struck with the proactive and challenging approach to courses being given. All courses are being reviewed against the needs of business. We discussed a number of sectors and opportunities.  We considered how each level of training should flow seamlessly into the next level to help our young people be as ready to meet the needs of business as possible.

I was able to pass on a some ideas and contacts.
