I was asked to speak at this event in London. I shared my experiences of setting up our shared services with Northamptonshire ( LGSS ) to a significant number of councillors and officers from around the country.

I was able to tell them about the significant savings we have made to date and how we intend making future savings. LGSS now provides services for a range of authorities covering HR, IT, legal, procurement and property.

Key to the success of LGSS is its ownership by our two county councils through a joint committee. This means it is flexible and acts in the interest of the councils.

The talk was well received with lots of interest in LGSS.
