All candidates, from all parties, should be congratulated for putting themselves up for election.

Elected politicians often get a hard time from the public, can’t get anything right it seems and contribute significant amounts of their time. Councillors don’t even get very much financial reward.

By now most candidates will have walked miles delivering leaflets and spoken to many people. Now they have to wait to see if they get elected.
